Happy Easter to all my friends and followers.

I'll just have photos today. They show the walls with drywall and the tub surrounds have a mould and mildew suppressant in them. Those sheets are blue. There is a photo of Hubby's son-in law up a ladder with our beautiful cherry tree behind. He and Hubby were hooking up the power pole to the house ready for when Hydro hooks us up to the grid!

The Gyproc arrived today.

They arrived later than I had been told but at least they did arrive.The crane truck lifts the boards to the lower and upper decks and the guys man-handle the sheets into the house. Our drywaller will start on Wednesday he says.

We passed our Insulation and Vapour Barrier inspection!

Now on to gyproc.

They finished the posts today so the outside looks finished. It still needs caulking in the siding and the trim painted white.
The vapour barrier was done today and will be inspected tomorrow morning, keep your fingers crossed for us!

The company doing the work starts tomorrow at 8am. He had said he could do it in a day but we added another job to his quote so don't know if that will slow him down.He also calls the inspector so we may be ordering gyproc this week!!
I spent this afternoon sweeping the house from top to bottom , even sweeping the walls to rid it of the tiny little specks of Styrofoam. I guess it will be gyproc dust I'll be sweeping next. Needless to say I have been wearing dust masks which seem to have left permanent grooves in my face. Most attractive!!

This week.

We had two companies come out to quote for the vapour barrier installation. we picked one and they will start next Monday,April11/11. I have been going around using spray foam (very sloppily I may say) on the window and door surrounds, it is the special spray for these areas and I will be taking off the excess this week-end! We will also be clearing out the garage of the new house as they will be bringing the drywall and will need room. The builder had a couple of his guys come by this week to a bit of work on the pillars at the font and side of the house. Still more to do.
On another note I have actually been playing in my garden, I did a little digging and unfortunately pulled up one of the four sweet pea seedlings I had transplanted! it feels sooooooo good to have my hands in the dirt again!

The only part we haven't done yet is the crawl space. Now we are ready to do the vapour barrier and Hubby is antsy and wonders if we should hire a company to do this for us.I am loathe to spend money when his son-in-law is willing and able to help us.
We drovew down to look at the local boat launch and as we were driving out towards our house I took this picture of the house.
