Boo!! Hoo!!

Spoke with our trim guy yesterday and the painters will not start till next Monday , June 6th and will take two weeks. So my hopes of being in for my birthday are non-existent.

Hi, our trim guy is now working on the stair rails and supports. The photos show the posts for the stairs, the cornice in the lower floor and the roughed in mantel for the fireplace.
Today I was able to dig in my garden as it has finally dried out. Hope to get some raspberry starts from a friend this week.
I had a wonderful restful time at Yellowpoint Lodge this last week, I even had afternoon naps which I am not usually able to do!
I have now picked out the paint colours for the house, to my painters relief. I hate making decisions for something I will not be staying for a long time.

Not a lot going on.

The trim is practically finished. They are starting the fireplace mantel,and I guess they will start the stairwell stuff too. Hubby has been cutting up the construction waste wood into fireplace sized bits so we will at least have heat this year!!
We don't get our next chunk of money from the bank until we have occupancy and are 95% finished. How can we move in if it's not finished! I have paid each contractor as soon as I am handed the bill and now will have to say "30 days" and hope to H--- that they are finished in 30 days! Not a pleasant place to be in for me.
I am heading up to Yellowpoint Lodge for three nights next week. I will do the Yellowpoint triathlon,

Trim installation.

This is the upstairs front bedroom window. Not too clear but we have a 3"top piece with a strip in between as a "fancy" touch.

To save myself a lot of bother I have told the trim guy, the painter and the flooring guy each others' phone numbers so THEY can do all the co-ordinating they need!!!

Latest doings.

On the weekend we did odd jobs around the property. I have started to remove the smoke stains from the siding. Someone suggested straight Sunlight detergent and it has worked quite well. I think I will have to repeat a couple of times.
We dug away the dirt from the back fence so the fence will not rot too soon. We put the dirt in the craters beneath the deck supports and I set up a siphon between them too.
The gyproc is finished and the trim guys hung the interior doors today. We are short one on our order.
Today I pruned the apple tree on the other lot. Nice to be gardening again.
