What a morning!!!!

I had the pleasure of having a nice quiet breakfast, in my pajamas, interrupted by a phone call from our excavator man to say we had the wrong plans at the property! Quick change into clothes, brush teeth and hair and dash to property with EVERYTHING I have regarding the site.
I ended going back and forth two times as I needed to use the computer to get connected with a) my surveyor, b) my designer,c) the prefab salesman and the Municipality!
We have ended up with the designer throwing together some adjustments, and the excavator dug the site to 7ft below street level and we pray it will all work out. Our man that is building our foundations will meet with us over the next couple of days to figure out how high our crawlspace will end up being.

My poor Hubby was feeling so helpless as he was at work, but I muddled through!

The survey stakes are in.

The surveyor was only there a little while. They have placed 4 stakes at the corners of the house to be . They are actually 4feet out from the actual measurements.  Our excavator guy  called us to say that they were busy and he had some equipment issues but should be there tomorrow. (Tuesday). Hubby's Mum has had some health issues so I will be with her tomorrow so may not be able to go watch the work being done. Boohoo!
We got a bill today for the rest of the shutting off of utilities. Another $385.

Step 1- the survey

At 3pm this afternoon the surveyor arrived to stake out the house. They will have to wear their wellies as we have a pond at one corner of the site from all the rain we had over the last couple of days! I don't know how long the survey and staking will take. I can't visit the site till tomorrow afternoon.
We have left a message with our excavator person as he wanted 2 days notice.

The phone call this morning while I was on a walk. Picked it up and wrote a cheque for $3820.23. Have contacted surveyor and excavator man.
And so it begins...

Third week of waiting for building permit.

We had a plumber come and give us another quote, he had given us one earlier which was way too low so he has investigated further and came up with a more realistic figure.
We have heard no more about the right of way application so will email the surveyor tonight.
Not much to report.

Latest hoop to jump through!

We heard from the Municipality that we have to get a private easement applied so that the storm drain from 799 can pass through 801 to the hook up on Peden Lane. We figure we will set up both lots now to save problems later. This latest bit involves the surveyor, a lawyer and the Municipality. I don't know what costs that will incur and if this will affect the time it will take us to get our permit.

Hubby got the call for work!!

He will start on Tuesday after the holiday. Phew!
Our gyproc guy called with a quote, $11400. That is to install and tape.
We have heard from the engineering dept. at the Municipality that we will have to have a permeable driveway or we would have to put in a tank to catch the run off from the roof and driveway. The lot has been given the officail address of 801 Stelly's so I requested another mailbox from the post office but a person can only have one mail address!!! So they will forward any mail addressed to 801 to our mailbox for 799!
